Mistley Community Hall

The mounds at the Hall - Enchanting!

Event Board

The Mistley Community Association was created by the community to support the interests of local people at Mistley Community Hall. The constitution was signed in September of 2010 enabling our trustees to create the first lease. Local people were  dedicated to this historic site that was in great need of restoration. After taking over the lease we rebuilt the base of the building, improved the fixtures and fittings including use of the garden. The site is pervasively popular throughout the year offering a diverse variety of events including preschool, music, keep fit, religious and social events. Weekends are set aside for family and social activities with parties, open days and gatherings. After seven years of participation we continue energetically  reinventing the Hall to make it more efficient and aesthetically appealing. This includes the recent upgrade of windows and doors, a further facelift to the site and improvements to the play area.

This historic site is a limited edition with asset of the community status, valued by the community, cherished by the residents and supported by the local shopkeepers and businesses. Our thanks go to the people of Mistley Estates, the Management Committee, our trustees past and present Geoff and Linda Williams , Philip Jenkins, Ben Williams, the untiring efforts of Councillor Kerry Smith, Basildon Council and our local MP Stephen Metcalfe. Welcome to our new trustee Pauline Kettle with our thanks for supporting our Hall and community.

We are delighted to confirm that restoration of Mistley Community Hall is proceeding a pace with the insulation of the hall completed. Please see attached photos. The hall is warmer and heating less costly as a result of this environmentally friendly change. With the help of Basildon Council we are also replacing a heater offering further fuel efficiency.
